Greece's long jump star among nominees for 2026 European Athlete of the Year

Greece's two-time Olympic long jump champion Miltos Tentoglou is among the 10 nominees for the 2026 Men's European Athlete of the Year award, unveiled by European Athletics, as voting for the award opened on Tuesday.

The three finalists in each of the four categories - Men's and Women's European Athlete of the Year and the men's and women's Rising Star awards - will be announced on October 1, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.

The winners will be revealed at the prestigious Golden Tracks awards ceremony in Lausanne on October 24.

The winners will be decided through four equally weighted votes, with the public, European Athletics member federations, media representatives and a European Athletics expert panel each accounting for 25% of the final result.

Sweden's Armand Duplantis was named Men's European Athlete of the Year in 2025.
