Hagi's Autobiography: A Journey to Success

Romania

Gheorghe Hagi, former national football team captain and coach, launched his autobiography, My Path, at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies on Wednesday evening. The book reflects on his life journey, from a child in Sacele with a love for football to a global football legend. Hagi shared that the book highlights how to build success, emphasizing the role of teamwork and dedication in achieving greatness, CE Report quotes Agerpres

Hagi credited his achievements to his coaches, teammates, and his passion for the game. "Football was my first love," he said, recalling his early days with the ball and his rise through the ranks. He also noted that the hardest part of his career was the rigorous training, something he believes is key to success in any sport.

At the event, Hagi discussed the impact of key figures like Mircea Lucescu, who made him captain of the national team at just 20, and reflected on his career decisions, including his move from Real Madrid to Brescia. Lucescu acknowledged Hagi's influence on his own career, praising his character and leadership both on and off the field.

The event was attended by former colleagues and coaches, including Ilie Dumitrescu, who praised Hagi's role in Romania's football history and lamented that with more support, Hagi could have won the 1994 World Cup's best player award. Marius Lacatus also expressed hope that another Romanian player would one day achieve similar success.

My Path is a testament to Hagi's extraordinary football career and the lessons he learned along the way.
