Chatgpt, Gemini, Claude, Grok experience global outages

The artificial intelligence (AI) platforms ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, Gemini by Google, Claude by Anthropic, and Grok by xAI experienced worldwide outages on Thursday, according to specialized monitoring website DownDetector, cited by EFE.

According to the website, which monitors such incidents, thousands of users reported disruptions to chatbot services across more than 70 countries, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

ChatGPT was the most affected platform. According to DownDetector, nearly 38,000 users in the United States reported problems at 11:00 a.m. local time (3:00 p.m. GMT).

Data from the same website indicates that 80% of reported problems were directly related to the chatbot, while 8% involved malfunctions with Codex, OpenAI’s AI assistant specialized in programming and code generation, and 7% were related to the application.

Meanwhile, OpenAI’s official system status page displayed a notification stating that the company was currently “experiencing issues” and that there were “major errors in ChatGPT and Codex.”

“We have applied corrective measures and are monitoring recovery,” the message on the website stated.

Meanwhile, Claude’s system status page indicated “major errors across multiple models.”

“A fix has been implemented for Claude Mythos 5.1, Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Opus 5, and we are monitoring their recovery. The only models currently affected are Opus 4.8 and Opus 5,” the message said.

According to DownDetector, the peak of incidents for Claude occurred at 10:56 a.m. local time, when 1,417 users in the United States reported problems.

As for Grok, the largest number of problems was recorded at 9:45 a.m., with 1,400 reports on DownDetector.

Finally, Gemini recorded a peak in incidents at 11:03 a.m. local time, with 435 reports, according to the specialized monitoring website.
