Albania on Wednesday marks 17 years since joining NATO, with President Bajram Begaj describing the country as a “factor of stability and security” within the Alliance.

In a social media post, the head of state called Albania’s NATO membership a historic achievement that has strengthened its security, sovereignty, and role in the Euro-Atlantic community, CE Report quotes ATA.

President Begaj highlighted Albania’s contribution as a reliable ally in support of international peace and security, emphasizing the country’s continued commitment to NATO missions and operations.

He also expressed pride in the dedication and professionalism of the Albanian Armed Forces, which have served alongside allies with distinction in every mission requiring their presence.

“Albania remains steadfast in its commitment to being a factor of stability and security,” Begaj said.

He added that the country will continue to work alongside allies to promote peace, stability, and the building of a safer future for all.
