Greek PM Meets ESM Chief to Discuss Economic Reforms and Growth

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with European Stability Mechanism (ESM) Managing Director Pierre Gramegna on Thursday at Maximos Mansion. Their talks focused on Greece's efforts to combat tax evasion, judicial reforms, and the use of technology to improve public services, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

Mitsotakis and Gramegna highlighted Greece's strong post-pandemic economic performance, with growth exceeding the European average, declining unemployment, and an improved public debt-to-GDP ratio. They also discussed the ESM's potential role in financing European investments, including in defense, amid shifting geopolitical dynamics.

Mitsotakis emphasized that Greece has moved beyond its bailout-era ties to the ESM, while Gramegna reassured that his visit was not due to concerns about the Greek economy.
