Romanian President Klaus Iohannis congratulated Maia Sandu on her inauguration for a second term as President of the Republic of Moldova, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

In a social media message, Iohannis highlighted the ongoing partnership between Romania and Moldova, emphasizing their shared commitment to well-being, stability, European values, resilience, and democracy.

"Congratulations to President Maia Sandu, who today took the oath for her second term. Romania and Moldova will continue to work together for progress and democracy," he stated.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the Palace of the Republic in Chisinau, marked Sandu’s historic achievement as the first woman to lead Moldova and the first directly elected president to secure a second term. Moldovan presidents serve a four-year term beginning on the day they take the oath of office.
