Parliament Backs Agency Reform
Several Moldovan state institutions will be reorganized under a draft law approved by Parliament in the first reading today. The reform shifts the subordination of various agencies from the central government to the relevant ministries, aiming to boost efficiency and clarify responsibilities, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
Deputy Secretary General of the Government, Lilia Dabija, said the changes will enhance policy implementation by eliminating overlaps and strengthening ministerial oversight.
Under the draft, the State Agency for Intellectual Property will come under the Ministry of Justice, while the Interethnic Relations Agency and National Agency for Research and Development will report to the Ministry of Education and Research. Other transfers include the Agency for Medicines to the Health Ministry and the Public Property Agency to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization.
Certain institutions, including the National Statistics Bureau and the National Health Insurance Company, will retain their current structure.
The reform is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2026, pending a second reading in Parliament.
