
Kamdzhalov Festival Unites Voices in Rose Valley
The second night of the Kamdzhalov Festival, held at the Damascena Ethnographic Complex near Pavel Banya, showcased a powerful celebration of music and community. Performances included the Smiling Stars Children's Choir and the Choir of the Musical Laboratory for the Human, under the direction of Maya Vasileva, as well as audience participation through the Bulgaria Sings format, CE Report quotes BTA
Maestro Yordan Kamdzhalov praised the children’s choir for their unmatched energy and highlighted the participatory format as “interdisciplinary, broad-minded and democratic,” inviting the entire audience to sing along. The evening featured poetry, folk music, and a special guest performance by bagpiper Nikola Chetrokov.
The festival continues Sunday with a workshop led by Kamdzhalov and guests. Organized by the Yordan Kamdzhalov Foundation and the Damascena Complex, the festival opened Friday with classical and folk performances and is set to become an annual tradition in Bulgaria’s Rose Valley.
