Michel Mari wins 2026 Strega prize

Michele Mari won the 2026 Strega Prize with the novel I convitati di pietra (Einaudi), receiving 190 votes.

In second place was Matteo Nucci with Platone. Una storia d'amore (Feltrinelli), which received 152 votes, followed by Bianca Pitzorno in third with La sonnambula (Bompiani), earning 84 votes.

Fourth place went to Alcide Pierantozzi with Lo sbilico (Einaudi), receiving 78 votes.

Fifth was Teresa Ciabatti with Donnaregina (Mondadori), with 75 votes, while Elena Rui finished sixth with Vedove di Camus (L'Orma), receiving 64 votes.

A total of 643 votes were cast, representing 80.4% of eligible voters.

The voting panel was chaired by Andrea Bajani, winner of the 2024 Strega Prize.
