Moldova Cuts Banking Fees, Ends EU Roaming Charges
Moldova will reduce banking transaction costs with the European Union starting next October, and by the end of the year, roaming charges for Moldovan citizens traveling or communicating within the EU will be fully removed, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
President Maia Sandu announced these steps at the conclusion of the Moldova–EU summit, highlighting that the goal is to raise Moldova’s living standards to European levels for all citizens.
She stressed that European integration is more than a geopolitical goal—it delivers real benefits such as improved infrastructure, modern schools, lower bills, and better services. Sandu expressed confidence in Moldova’s success, citing examples from Poland, Lithuania, and Romania.
These measures are part of a broader effort toward Moldova’s economic and social integration into European structures, supported by EU institutions and international partners.
