Greek defence minister reviews firefighting aircraft readiness at Elefsina

Greek Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias visited the 355th Tactical Transport Squadron (Firefighting Aircraft Squadron) and the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (MSA) of the 112th Combat Wing at Elefsina Air Base.

Accompanied by the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Lieutenant General (Pilot) Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, the minister received a briefing from the commander of the 355th Tactical Transport Squadron on the unit's mission, operational activities, and aerial firefighting operations carried out since the start of the summer wildfire season.

He was also briefed on issues related to the maintenance, availability, and operational readiness of the Hellenic Air Force's aerial firefighting fleet, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.

Dendias later toured the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, where he met and spoke with flight crews, technical personnel, and administrative staff.
