Chinese Fast Fashion Giant Shein Hit with Record Fine in France

Shein, the Chinese fast fashion giant, has been fined in France for "misleading commercial practices," following an investigation by the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs, and Fraud Control in Paris, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The company was ordered to pay a record fine of 40 million euros for "misleading consumers about the reality of the discounts" offered to customers.

The French authority specifies that Shein has already agreed to pay the fine, which is a record amount in France for this type of violation.
