National e-File on Health Goes Live, Full Implementation by 2025

Greece

The National e-File on Health, a centralized digital platform compiling all private and public health data of citizens, is now operational and expected to be fully implemented by the end of 2025. Health and Digital Governance Minister Adonis Georgiadis and Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou announced the launch on Monday, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

According to Alternate Health Minister Irini Agapidaki, the platform builds on the existing Individual e-File system. The National e-File on Health will integrate medical records, demographic data, medical history, prescriptions, allergies, vaccinations, test results, X-rays, vital statistics, and personal health metrics. It will seamlessly exchange data across platforms, including hospitals, private health centers, and registries, and will be accessible through the upgraded My Health App.

This system aims to enhance patient interactions with healthcare services and optimize resource management within the National Health System. The project is part of a broader digital transformation initiative funded by the Recovery Fund.

KEPA Certification Process Unaffected

Clarifying concerns about Disability Certification Centers (KEPA), Minister Georgiadis stated that they will not be abolished. Instead, the new system will streamline the certification process, eliminating the need for citizens to undergo committee examinations to obtain necessary documents.
