Greek supermarkets aim to absorb inflation pressures
Representatives of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Supermarket Association met with the Development Minister of Greece, Takis Theodorikakos.
According to the association, both sides expressed their commitment to supporting Greek households through co-ordinated measures aimed at helping to keep living expenses in check in the coming months, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.
They also stressed supermarkets' ongoing efforts to absorb a significant share of inflationary pressures and keep prices as low as possible, despite rising costs linked to geopolitical developments in the Middle East.
In this context, they noted that prices for packaged foods and other consumer goods sold in Greek supermarkets remain significantly below the European average, according to the latest available data.
