Speleologist rescued after ordeal in Italian cave

Awoman speleologist, Ottavia Piana, was pulled out of the Abisso Bueno Fonteno cave by near Bergamo by rescuers, ending an ordeal that started when she got injured in a fall on Saturday, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The 32-year-old woman was taken to a Bergamo hospital by helicopter after reportedly suffering injuries to her vertebrae and ribs and fractures to her facial bones and a knee.

Piana, a caving instructor, got stuck in the same cave last year, spending two days in it with a broken leg at a depth of 150 metres in a spot not far from where she fell this time.
