Brussels to host EUSEW 2026 with high-level energy transition discussions

European Union

The 20th edition of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), the European Union’s flagship event on clean energy and renewables, will take place on 9–11 June 2026 in Brussels and online.

The theme of EUSEW is “A clean, secure and competitive Energy Union”, CE Report informs via the European Commission's official website.

The event is organised by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) and will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, and civil society representatives to discuss the future of Europe’s energy transition.

Participants will be able to attend sessions both in person at the Charlemagne building of the European Commission and the NH Brussels EU Berlaymont hotel, as well as online via a dedicated platform that also enables networking, messaging, and one-to-one meetings.

A key highlight of this year’s conference will be a high-level panel on 9 June, featuring former European Commissioners Andris Piebalgs, Günther Oettinger, Miguel Arias Cañete, and Kadri Simson, alongside Energy and Housing Commissioner Dan Jørgensen. The discussion will focus on how Europe’s energy priorities have evolved and the challenges ahead in a shifting geopolitical and economic environment.

On the same day, the EUSEW Awards 2026 ceremony will be held at 10:00 CET in Brussels and online. The awards will recognise outstanding contributions to energy efficiency and renewable energy in three categories: Local Energy Action, Women in Energy, and SMEs Driving Energy Efficiency. The public is invited to vote for finalists until 31 May.

The three-day programme will include around 50 policy sessions, covering key topics related to the energy transition. Onsite participants will also have access to the Energy Fair, featuring 28 stands showcasing initiatives in energy efficiency and renewable energy.

Beyond Brussels, EUSEW will also extend across Europe through the Sustainable Energy Days (SED), local events held between March and June that promote clean energy awareness at community level. Applications to join the initiative remain open until 24 May 2026.

Additional elements of the programme include discussions on policy innovation, stakeholder engagement, and youth participation. The Young Energy Ambassadors initiative, which engages young leaders aged 18 to 35 in shaping Europe’s climate-neutral future, will continue with a new cohort to be announced in April.

The full EUSEW 2026 programme is now available online, with participants encouraged to register and plan their attendance in advance.
