Europe has sufficient jet fuel supplies for now

"At the moment, there is no shortage of aviation fuel in Europe, and we have no indications that one will occur in the near future."

This was stated by Apostolos Tzitzikostas, the European Commissioner for Transport, in an interview published by Reuters.

He added that regional airports are the most vulnerable to potential disruptions, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The main concern is linked to the sharp rise in jet fuel prices, which is leading "some airlines" to "cancel certain routes that no longer make economic sense," Tzitzikostas explained, stressing that the situation varies significantly from one carrier to another.

"It is essential," he added, "that the war comes to an end and that the Strait of Hormuz is reopened as soon as possible.

We must always keep in mind that Europe is prepared: we have emergency reserves in our countries. At the moment, there is a certain degree of stability."\
