Shakira tops global Spotify chart
Shakira continues to rewrite the rules of global pop.
The Colombian superstar is currently the sixth most-streamed artist in the world and the first artist in history to top Spotify’s global chart with songs in both English and Spanish, CE Report quotes ANSA.
Leading this new chapter is “Dai Dai,” her collaboration with Nigerian star Burna Boy, which is currently No. 1 on Spotify’s Global chart.
The song has reached No. 1 in 12 countries, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain, Norway, the Netherlands, Slovakia, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Sweden and Belgium.
“Dai Dai” has also entered the Top 5 in Portugal, Canada, China and Italy, while climbing into the top five of the United Kingdom’s midweek singles chart.
The single’s success has also extended to YouTube, where its official music video remains the platform’s No. 1 global video, surpassing 400 million views.
The latest milestone follows Shakira’s record-breaking tours across the United States and South America.
The singer is now preparing to return to Europe for a 12-show residency in Madrid, scheduled for September and October at the Shakira Stadium.
With “Dai Dai,” Shakira once again demonstrates her ability to transcend languages, cultures and markets while maintaining an unprecedented presence at the top of the world’s music charts.
