“Dai, dai, ikou, dale, allez, let’s go”: Shakira sings in multiple languages in her new song together with Nigerian artist Burna Boy, released on online platforms and expected to become the official song of the FIFA World Cup 2026, following the success of Waka Waka in 2010.

The track is titled Dai Dai, with the Italian word “dai” being the only reference to Italy in a tournament where the national team did not qualify, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The song, performed with Shakira’s signature energy, is described as a message of perseverance and self-belief, while also reflecting football history. Alongside legends such as Pelé and Maradona, she also mentions Italy’s Paolo Maldini.

Shakira will also join Madonna and K-pop group BTS for a Super Bowl-style halftime show during the World Cup final on Sunday, July 19. The show will be curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay.

Dai Dai will also serve as the official anthem of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million by the end of the tournament to provide children worldwide with access to education and sports.

Shakira will donate her royalties from the song to the fund, while Sony Music will contribute up to $250,000 in initial donations. She will also donate $1 for every ticket sold during her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour.
