Zendaya, Law Roach begin Met Gala planning five months ahead
Renowned stylist Law Roach revealed that preparations for the Met Gala 2026, where he collaborates with Zendaya, begin about five months in advance, making it a long and detailed process.
In an “ask me anything” session on Reddit on April 30, he said everything starts with choosing the designer and defining the direction of the client’s outfit. This is followed by discussions about inspiration, and then the work continues with his creative team, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
The Met Gala 2026 will take place on May 4 and will accompany the “Costume Art” exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, which brings together historical and modern garments with art objects representing 5,000 years of history.
The theme of the evening, “Fashion Is Art,” invites guests to express their relationship with fashion as an art form, reflecting the concept of the dressed body in art history.
According to the curators, the exhibition aims to highlight the strong connection between fashion and the visual arts, and celebrities are expected to appear in creative outfits and artistic interpretations.
“We might even see someone dressed like the Mona Lisa,” Roach predicted in March to E! News.
