TAP updates on firm capacity allocations at its main interconnection points
The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) consortium has published a detailed update on firm capacity allocations at its main interconnection points, CE Report informs.
As of January 12, the firm capacity at the Kipoi interconnection point — where TAP links to the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) at the Greek-Turkish border — stood at 363,848,997 kilowatt-hours (kWh).
TAP also released forward capacity reservation data for the period January 12–18, with daily averages as follows:
Kipoi Interconnection (Greece): 363,848,997 kWh
Komotini Interconnection (Greece): 28,674,418 kWh
Nea Mesimvria Interconnection (Greece): 30,346,301 kWh
Melendugno Interconnection (Italy): 304,828,278 kWh
A cornerstone of the Southern Gas Corridor, TAP transports natural gas from Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz field in the Caspian Sea directly to European markets. The 878-kilometer pipeline links with TANAP at Kipoi, crosses Greece and Albania, traverses the Adriatic Sea, and terminates in southern Italy.
TAP plays a critical role in Europe’s energy security, helping diversify supply routes and reduce reliance on limited sources. Its scalable infrastructure positions the pipeline to support the continent’s long-term energy resilience and energy transition goals.
