The Moldovan government has unveiled a new campaign titled Save Energy – Pay Less, aimed at encouraging energy efficiency and reducing household expenses, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

“We will successfully get through this winter with government support for vulnerable groups and the responsible actions of our society. Everyone wants to lower their utility bills, and small changes at home can make a big difference,” government spokesman Daniel Voda stated.

Voda highlighted several practical steps for saving energy and cutting costs:

  • Turn off lights in unoccupied rooms.
  • Switch to LED bulbs, which last longer and use 75% less energy.
  • Use a thermostat set between 18–20°C to cut heating bills by up to 30%.
  • Fully load washing machines and dishwashers, and use energy-saving modes during off-peak hours.
  • Turn off devices when not in use, as they still consume energy in standby mode.

The campaign also promotes resources from the National Centre for Sustainable Energy, offering guides and advice to help households save.

“Let’s all contribute to this national effort – save energy and pay less!” Voda concluded.
