The village of Tarigrad in Moldova’s Drochia district transformed into a hub of tradition and taste on the last Sunday of July, hosting the seventh GurmanIA Gastronomic Festival. The event brought together locals, tourists, and tourism professionals to enjoy Moldova’s rich culinary heritage, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Visitors were treated to traditional dishes such as sarmale, cheese pies, black and white cake, and polenta with roast, complemented by local wines and artisanal drinks. Folk costumes and craft stalls added color and authenticity to the atmosphere.

The festival underscored the role of gastronomy in boosting rural tourism. Ana Sandra, interim head of the National Tourism Office, highlighted its importance in promoting Moldovan cuisine and wines.

Organized by Tarigrad’s mayoralty in partnership with local authorities and cultural institutions, the event also showcased the village’s history and natural beauty. With roots dating back to the 18th century, Tarigrad blends tradition, hospitality, and scenic charm—making it a growing destination for authentic rural experiences.
