Poland Faces Flood Threat in Southern Regions
Polish Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński warned on Monday that the situation is “really difficult” in several areas, particularly Bielski County and along the Wapienica, Iłownica, and Biała rivers, CE Report quotes PAP
Speaking ahead of a crisis team meeting, he said authorities would review reports from emergency services and provincial governors to determine whether additional resources need to be deployed.
Kierwiński stressed that all state services are prepared to take “more radical action if necessary.” The warning comes as Poland continues to recover from last September’s devastating floods in the south and southwest, which caused multi-billion-euro damages.
