US Backs Poland with Military Loan Guarantee
The United States has issued a loan guarantee for Poland under the Foreign Military Financing (FMF) programme, securing payments for previously signed contracts involving American military equipment, CE Report quotes PAP
Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz called the agreement a sign of the strongest-ever alliance between the two countries. “We’re ready to use this funding to modernize our army and boost national security,” he stated, adding that Poland sets an example in Europe for defense spending and military readiness.
The FMF programme offers loans and grants to U.S. allies for purchasing American defense systems. In April 2025, the U.S. Congress raised FMF funding for NATO allies to $6.7 billion as part of broader support for Ukraine.
