Sophia Loren’s son marries Georgian Mariam Sharmanashvili

Italian conductor and son of Sophia Loren, Carlo Ponti Junior (56), married Georgian Mariam Sharmanashvili, who is 20 years younger than him.

The wedding took place at the Samtavro Monastery in Mtskheta, a UNESCO World Heritage site, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The legendary actress did not attend the ceremony. Sharmanashvili said in an interview with the Georgian magazine Ambebi that Loren would attend their second wedding in Geneva, scheduled for September this year.

Ponti Junior moved to the United States in 2013. Sharmanashvili works as a Zumba instructor. They met on social media. Ponti Junior has two children with his former girlfriend — Hungarian violinist Andrea Meszaros. Sharmanashvili also has two children from a previous marriage.
