Elon Musk's mother meets readers in Istanbul

Maye Musk, the mother of businessman Elon Musk—owner of SpaceX, Tesla, Starlink, and X—met with readers in Istanbul.

At an event held at D&R Kanyon, Maye Musk held a talk about her book A Woman Makes a Plan, which has been translated into Turkish and published by Destek Yayınları, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

Musk emphasized that true wealth is health, saying:

“I struggled with obesity twice in my life. That’s why I now try to maintain a healthy weight. This is important not only for health but also economically—you don’t have to buy clothes for different body sizes.”

The author stated that she shared the difficulties she experienced in her book and advised women to talk about their problems and challenges with family and friends.

Musk noted that 20% of her readers are men and that the book can have an impact on everyone’s life.

Sharing her father’s advice—“Make sure you have a profession”—Maye Musk stressed that young women should focus on their careers.

“Follow a job you love and that can support you. Learning different languages is important to understand the world.” she added.

During her talk, Musk also announced her upcoming book, titled Timeless: The Art of Resilience and Reinvention at Every Age.

Her new book is planned to be released in September simultaneously in the United States and Türkiye.
