Chișinău Airport launches major digital transformation project
Chișinău International Airport has launched a major digital transformation project aimed at developing an integrated online platform to modernize the airport’s digital infrastructure and improve interaction with passengers, commercial partners, and airlines, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.
According to airport representatives, the project goes beyond a simple website redesign. It involves implementing a complex information system interconnected with airport operational systems and built according to modern cybersecurity and accessibility standards.
“The new online infrastructure will integrate several key components, including a hybrid content management system (CMS); a secure citizen portal with authentication via MPass and two-factor login; online commercial services such as Fast Track; parking and business lounge booking system; and a CRM system for user relationship management. The platform will support online payments, electronic document generation, automated notifications, and transaction history management in a secure environment,” the airport stated.
A central element of the project is API integration with critical airport systems, including flight information systems, terminal display panels, and the passenger request management platform.
“This interconnection will ensure real-time updates, automate operational workflows, reduce response times, and optimize internal processes. The platform will also comply with international WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, making digital services easier to use for people with mobility challenges or other special needs,” the source said.
The project is structured in seven stages: analysis and design; development and integration; data migration and population; acceptance testing; pilot operation; industrial deployment; and post-implementation warranty period.
The implementation team is multidisciplinary, including a project manager, business analysts, backend and frontend developers, QA, DevOps, and security specialists, as well as UX/UI and technical documentation experts. The project aligns with national cybersecurity regulations, critical infrastructure requirements, and international information security standards.
Through this strategic investment, Chișinău International Airport aims to enhance passenger services, digitize commercial processes, strengthen cybersecurity, and establish a sustainable technological foundation for the airport’s future developments.
