North Macedonia maintains economic growth forecast

The government of North Macedonia is maintaining its economic growth forecast of more than 3.5 percent, with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski saying first-quarter figures rank Macedonian GDP among the best in Europe.

“We remain committed to our projections that economic growth will exceed 3.5 percent. Given that in the first quarter we recorded real growth of 3.1 percent, and 3.3 percent according to adjusted and seasonally adjusted figures, this represents one of the best GDP performances in Europe at the moment. No matter how much some individuals try to twist the truth or present it in a satirical way, I have bad news for them: Macedonia is accelerating, Macedonia is winning, and Macedonia, as many times in history, will win again,” Mickoski said, responding to a journalist’s question about expectations for economic growth in terms of GDP.

Mickoski said the budget rebalance will be completed this month, CE Report quotes MIA.

He also added that dozens of companies are interested in data centers that will be regulated like technological-industrial development zones under proposed legal changes.

“There are several dozen interested companies, we are talking and negotiating, and of course locations will be selected that will have no impact on the environment,” said Mickoski, who attended the opening of the Rasadnik sports hall in Kisela Voda.
