Fuel and Power Prices Fall

Fuel and electricity prices are falling, according to the latest data from the Greek Ministry of Development (April 11). The average price of unleaded petrol has decreased to €1.755 per liter, down from €1.794 at the beginning of 2025 and €1.962 in April 2024. Diesel prices have also dropped to €1.522, compared to €1.578 in January and €1.715 a year ago, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

This decline is driven by international market volatility caused by U.S. tariffs and fears of a global economic slowdown, both of which are dampening fuel demand. Refinery prices for unleaded petrol alone fell 8 cents in a week, reaching 53 cents per liter on April 11.

A stronger euro against the dollar has also helped lower fuel costs, as oil is priced in dollars.

Electricity prices have followed suit, falling to €0.138/kWh in April, down from €0.174 in January (excluding state subsidies). In April 2024, the price stood at €0.11. The drop is linked to high renewable energy output and weak demand. If current trends persist, prices may continue to decline into May.
