Radev Calls for Dignity and Fair Work
On International Workers’ Day, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev emphasized in a Facebook post that work should be more than a means of survival—it should be the foundation of a full life and a just, democratic society, CE Report quotes BTA
He described May 1 as a day of gratitude to all who work with honesty for their families and the country, and as a symbol of the fight for fair conditions, decent wages, and social security.
Radev warned against the erosion of labor’s value through “authorized corruption and managerial ignorance,” stressing that unpunished negligence and political arrogance undermine motivation, especially among the younger generation. He urged for a society where knowledge and skills are respected and equal opportunities are guaranteed.
He concluded by congratulating those who build Bulgaria “with honor and dignity.”
