Donchev Highlights Recovery Plan Progress

Bulgaria

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev presented a report on his first 100 days in office, highlighting key achievements including the adoption of the state budget and the Government Programme, CE Report quotes BTA

Among the main accomplishments, Donchev pointed to a 41% acceleration in payments under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), totaling nearly BGN 2.2 billion by April 24, 2025. He also noted the submission of amendments to the NRRP and a new REPowerEU chapter, worth nearly EUR 480 million, to the European Commission on April 16.

The changes aim to secure the full amount of the second and third payments under the plan by year’s end. The report also outlines efforts to save delayed investment projects—such as rolling stock for BDZ and water infrastructure—by moving them under Cohesion Policy funding.
