A meeting at the Kazakh embassy in Tirana focused on expanding Albania-Kazakhstan ties, with a core focus on direct flights, trade, tourism, and regional links.

Ambassador Iskander Aisariyev held discussions with Albanian journalists, experts, and foreign ministry officials following a briefing on Kazakhstan’s new constitution and the August 23 Parliamentary elections for the Kurultai, CE Report quotes ATA.

A key focus of the meeting was bilateral relations. Ambassador Aisariyev stressed the need to deepen political dialogue and expand economic and institutional cooperation between Albania and Kazakhstan. The talks also explored establishing direct flights to boost tourism and business ties, though this idea requires further study with aviation authorities. Additionally, both sides discussed identifying joint projects and fostering direct connections between business leaders and investment agencies.

Strengthening regional and municipal ties is another key area of cooperation. Ambassador Aisariyev highlighted his visits to various Albanian regions and local leaders, noting that local partnerships drive economic, tourism, and cultural growth in bilateral relations.

Kazakhstan played a major role in nuclear disarmament. When the Soviet Union ended, Kazakhstan gave up its inherited nuclear weapons and closed the Semipalatinsk test site on August 29, 1991. Later, the United Nations named August 29 the International Day against Nuclear Tests because of Kazakhstan’s work.
