Zelensky announces plans for next-generation Ukrainian drones

War in Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that new domestically produced Ukrainian drones would be able to reach targets at distances of over 3,000 kilometers.

The head of state made the statement in an interview with the Ukrainian TV channel 1+1, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

Commenting on the recent strike on an oil refinery in Russia’s Tyumen region, Zelensky said: “New drones will be 3,000 km plus. This is already in the plans.”

He confirmed that the drones that struck the Tyumen oil refinery, having flown 2,500 kilometers, were produced by the Fire Point company.

“We are now at a stage where our defense industry, our Armed Forces, and our production have begun this process of bringing the war back to Russia, as I said. And this will happen. They strike us every day, so every day we will respond,” the President emphasized.

As reported earlier, units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces on June 20 struck the Tyumen oil refinery (Antipinsky) in Russia, more than 2,000 kilometers from the border.
