Türkiye Pledges Strong Action Against Terror Threats in Syria

Türkiye will continue taking decisive measures against terrorist organizations threatening Syria’s territorial integrity and regional stability, a senior defense official stated Thursday, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

Brig. Adm. Zeki Akturk, spokesperson for the Turkish Defense Ministry, reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to countering groups such as the PKK/PYD/YPG/SDG and Daesh (ISIS). He emphasized that "no terrorist formations or unilateral faits accomplis would be allowed in the region."

Akturk also highlighted Türkiye’s ongoing cooperation with Syria’s new administration to enhance security and support the voluntary and dignified return of Syrians. A Turkish Defense Ministry delegation visited Syria on Wednesday for technical discussions on joint efforts against terrorist threats.

Meanwhile, Turkish forces continue their counterterrorism operations in northern Iraq and Syria. Over the past week, 57 terrorists were neutralized, bringing the total this year to 278. Additionally, three PKK terrorists surrendered, with Türkiye reiterating that surrendering remains the only viable option for them.
