Turkish TV Series drive YouTube search boom in Türkiye

Turkish TV series dominated YouTube searches in Türkiye during the January-June period of 2026, with "Taşacak Bu Deniz" ranking as the most searched term on the platform.

According to an Anadolu Agency compilation based on Google data, YouTube accounts for the majority of internet traffic in Türkiye, with search trends highlighting the growing popularity of domestic television productions, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

Five TV series ranked among the top 10 most searched terms during the first six months of the year. "Taşacak Bu Deniz" topped the list, followed by "Yeraltı." The third most searched term was "songs," while "Manifest," "Uzak Şehir," "Minecraft," and "Sevdiğim Sensin" also featured prominently.

The term "song" also ranked among the most searched queries, alongside "Eşref Rüya" and "car."

Music accompanies TV series

Compared with the same period last year, newly released TV series climbed to the top of YouTube search rankings. Meanwhile, searches for "songs," "Uzak Şehir," "Minecraft," "song," and "Eşref Rüya" remained popular from 2025.

Among the fastest-growing search queries compared with the previous period were the TV series "Daha 17," as well as "Kabe'de hacılar hu der Allah," "Survivor," "Delikanlı," and "Daha İyi."

Turkish content gains global attention

Globally, YouTube's most searched terms remained largely unchanged from last year, with "song," "movie," "video," "songs," and "dj" topping the rankings.

However, among the world's fastest-rising search queries, the Turkish series "Yeraltı" ranked first during the January-June period, followed by "TikTok mashup 2026" and "trending music." The list also included "Sevdiğim Sensin" and "bairan song."
