Erdogan: Türkiye’s Stance on Gaza Will Be Vindicated by History

Türkiye

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed confidence that Türkiye’s position on Gaza will be validated by history, just as its stance on Syria was. Speaking at a Türkiye Exporters Assembly event in Istanbul, Erdogan stated, “Just as we have been proven right in the case of Syria, history will attest to our righteousness in the Gaza crisis as well.” CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

Erdogan highlighted Türkiye’s decisive actions, including becoming the only country to completely halt trade with Israel. In May, Türkiye suspended $9.5 billion in trade with Israel in response to its ongoing military actions in Gaza.

The Gaza conflict has led to devastating losses, with nearly 45,600 casualties—primarily women and children—since October 7, 2023. Despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire, the violence continues unabated.
