AIRCAIRO launches direct scheduled services to Athens
Official Welcome Ceremony Held for AIRCAIRO Delegation at Athens International Airport.
As part of its successful regional and international expansion strategy, AIRCAIRO has officially inaugurated its new direct scheduled services to Athens, Greece, adding another European destination to its growing international network, CE Report informs via AIRCAIRO's official website.
The new services reflect the airline's ongoing commitment to strengthening air connectivity between Egypt and international markets while supporting tourism, business travel, and economic cooperation.
AIRCAIRO commenced scheduled operations on the Cairo-Athens route on 24 July, followed by the launch of Alexandria-Athens services on 26 July. The new routes are expected to meet the growing demand for travel between Egypt and Greece, further enhance tourism and business traffic, and create new opportunities for bilateral economic and tourism cooperation.
The inaugural AIRCAIRO flight to Athens International Airport received an official ceremonial welcome organized by the airport authorities. The event was attended by senior officials from the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, Athens International Airport, and representatives of the Greek aviation and tourism sectors, reflecting the strong and continuously growing partnership between Egypt and Greece.

AIRCAIRO delegation was led by Mr. Ahmed Aziz, Chief Commercial Officer, representing Mr. Hussein Sherif, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AIRCAIRO. During the welcoming ceremony, Mr. Aziz conveyed the sincere appreciation of AIRCAIRO's management to the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority and Athens International Airport for the warm reception and outstanding hospitality extended to the airline's inaugural flight. He emphasized, on behalf of Mr. Hussein Sherif, that the launch of the new Athens service demonstrates AIRCAIRO's commitment to strengthening the long-standing strategic relationship between Egypt and Greece while further enhancing bilateral air connectivity to support tourism, trade, investment, and cultural exchange.

Mr. Sherif further confirmed that AIRCAIRO continues to implement its ambitious network expansion strategy, announcing plans to launch direct scheduled services to Athens from Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh over the coming months. These additional routes will further stimulate inbound tourism to Egypt by providing European travelers with convenient access to the country's premier Red Sea destinations.
