AWS outage disrupts Fortnite, Snapchat, major apps worldwide

Amazon’s cloud services unit, AWS, was hit by an outage that took down several popular applications, including Fortnite and Snapchat, and caused disruptions for many companies worldwide, according to CNN.

AWS said it was experiencing an increase in “error rates and latency” across many of its services, CE Report quotes ATA.

“Its cloud computing unit, AWS, has been affected by an outage, taking offline several well-known websites and applications around the world, including Snapchat, Facebook, and Fortnite,” Amazon said.

“We are working on multiple parallel paths to accelerate recovery,” the company added in its latest update.

A rapidly growing list of websites is experiencing issues, according to Downdetector, which tracks internet outages.

The cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and the artificial intelligence company Perplexity also reported service disruptions.
