Albanian tech star eyes $2B deal for secretive AI startup
Mira Murati, the Albanian woman revolutionizing the field of Artificial Intelligence, is no longer a coincidence in the world of technology but a lasting force with increasingly powerful positions, writes the prestigious magazine Fortune, according to fortune.com.
This was also reflected in its latest issue, which for the first time ranked Murati among the 50 most powerful women in the world, CE Report quotes ATA.
"Mira Murati, former Chief Technology Officer of OpenAI, stunned Silicon Valley when she resigned in September 2024. She was the brain behind the ChatGPT revolution, the model that completely transformed the AI landscape. Six months later, Murati introduced Thinking Machines Lab, an innovative AI startup that has generated a lot of buzz, even though it still operates in secrecy," writes Fortune.
"While details about the project remain scarce, the impact of the 36-year-old is clear. In mid-May, she was close to securing a $2 billion investment — the largest round in tech history — valuing Thinking Machines at $10 billion," the magazine states.
After leaving her position as CTO at OpenAI in September 2024, Murati founded her own AI startup, Thinking Machines Lab, where she currently serves as CEO.
This startup has been valued at a potential $10 billion, making it one of the most valuable startups in the field of AI.
