Moldovan athlete sets personal best to win Istanbul steeplechase
Moldovan athlete Andreea Stavila-Grosu set a new personal best in the 3,000-meter steeplechase after winning the WA Continental Tour Challenger 81 "Cezmi Or Cupası" international meeting in Istanbul, Türkiye, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.
Stavila-Grosu crossed the finish line first in 9 minutes 37.17 seconds, establishing a new personal record.
The achievement comes less than a month after she had already improved her previous personal best at the Balkan Athletics Championships in Volos, Greece, where she clocked 9:40.41.
Her result in Istanbul marks another important step in her bid to qualify for the European Athletics Championships, scheduled to take place in August in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Stavila-Grosu is aiming to secure qualification through the World Athletics ranking system.
