Colombia reveals World Cup squad
Néstor Lorenzo, the head coach of Colombia national football team, has announced the final list of 26 players called up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup 2026, placing his trust in the squad that secured qualification.
Luis Díaz, the star of Bayern Munich, and veteran James Rodríguez (34 years old) are the undisputed leaders of the squad, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Coach Lorenzo confirmed that James remains key to his plans:
“James arrived in excellent form... He suffered a minor injury that kept him out of two training sessions, but now he is doing very well.”
Surprises in the squad
Several big names were left out of the list, with the most notable being 37-year-old veteran Juan Guillermo Cuadrado of Pisa SC.
Strikers Jhon Jader Durán and Rafael Santos Borré were also omitted, as Lorenzo preferred Juan Camilo Hernández of Real Betis, along with Jhon Córdoba and Luis Javier Suárez.
