Neymar injury raises concern in Brazil ahead of World Cup 2026
Brazil has been shaken by concern after yet another injury to Neymar, who was forced to miss Santos FC’s match against San Lorenzo in the Copa Sudamericana.
The Brazilian star suffered a minor muscle injury in his calf, immediately raising alarm among “Seleção” fans, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Santos medical coordinator Rodrigo Zogaib confirmed that it is a light edema, with recovery expected to take around ten days. Despite the concerns, the Brazilian national team staff remains optimistic that Neymar will rejoin the squad next week and be ready for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Meanwhile, Brazil’s new head coach Carlo Ancelotti has begun setting strict rules within the team. Reports say the Italian will make no exceptions for Neymar, enforcing strong discipline ahead of the tournament in the United States.
Ancelotti has made it clear to Neymar that there will be no special privileges. The Brazilian forward will not be captain, and a starting place must be earned through performance in training and on the pitch. The coach has also introduced strict limits on social media use and personal media activities during the World Cup.
