Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Ukraine are the top three nations in the medals table of the 77th Strandja International Boxing Tournament, with the hosts Bulgaria coming in fourth. Europe's oldest surviving international boxing competition, also known as the Strandja Cup or the Strandja Memorial, was held in Sofia between February 21 and March 1.

This year, it effectively carried the status of an unofficial World Championship, CE Report quotes BTA.

Uzbekistan grabbed a total of 17 medals in the men’s and women’s divisions, including seven golds, four silvers and six bronzes. Kazakhstan earned nine (4, 2, 3), and Ukraine ten (3, 3, 4).

Bulgaria claimed seven medals, including two golds. Radoslav Rosenov won the title in the men’s 60 kg weight class. He produced a series of spectacular victories to lift the prestigious trophy for the fifth time in his career, an achievement no boxer in the history of the Strandja Cup had previously managed. Zlatislava Chukanova secured the gold in the women’s 51 kg. It marks her second consecutive Strandja Cup triumph, having also won the award last year. Her success is even more impressive given that she has returned to the ring following a serious injury.

Rami Kiwan (75 kg) won silver for Bulgaria after losing in the final to reigning world champion Fazliddin Erkinboev of Uzbekistan. Bronze medals went to Bulgaria’s Yasen Radev (55 kg), William Cholov (80 kg), Yordan Hernandez Morejon (+90kg) and Aleyna Mehmed (+80kg).
