The Federata Atletike e Kosovës organized its annual awards ceremony for the best athletes of 2025, honoring competitors for their achievements over the past year.

The ceremony was moderated by Kushtrim Krasniqi from the Komiteti Olimpik i Kosovës, who highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by athletics in Kosovo, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

“Twenty-six years after the war, we still organize activities on improvised fields. I hope that at least from these Mediterranean Games, athletics will be one of the biggest beneficiaries because it deserves it. To tell someone that we still do not have an athletics stadium is regrettable,” he said.

Federation president Halil Sylejmani then spoke about the work and development of athletics during 2025.

“Last year we started with a clear vision and great ambitions. In addition to organizing more than 20 domestic competitions covering all age groups, from U10 to veterans, we worked systematically and intensively and achieved the implementation of development plans aimed at raising the quality of athletics in every municipality. Special focus was placed on mass participation through talent identification projects. We visited schools, bringing athletics to where future champions are born,” Sylejmani stated.

Awards were presented across all age categories. In the senior category, the laureates were:

Senior Women

Gresa Bakraqi

Medina Kutlleshi

Ejona Shala

Senior Men

Muhamet Ramadani

Leon Thaçi

Alaudin Sumo

The federation emphasized that its goal remains to further improve quality and create better conditions for athletes in the coming years.
