North Macedonian champions secure playoff place in EHF European League
North Macedonian Vardar 1961 handball team triumphed tonight on the road against Croatian side Sesvete with a convincing 38-24 victory, securing their place in the playoffs with one round remaining in the group stage of the EHF European League.
Vardar 1961 claimed their fourth win in the fifth round of Group F with a dominant performance, asserting their quality from the very start, CE Report quotes MIA.
The Macedonian team had already established a commanding 23-12 lead by halftime, which they maintained comfortably until the final whistle in Zagreb.
Uroš Mitrović scored seven goals and Viktor Jankovski added six to lead Vardar 1961, while Miloš Valah recorded 11 saves in goal.
With this victory, Vardar retained their top position and secured a place among the top two in the group, guaranteeing a spot in the Top 16 ahead of the final round, in which French side Toulouse will visit Skopje on December 2.
