Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has pledged financial support for all fans of the Premier League club who were affected by a mass stabbing incident on a train near Cambridge, England.

The series of knife attacks left 11 people injured and receiving medical treatment, CE Report quotes BTA.

One of the injured is a season ticket holder at Forest’s City Ground stadium. The club confirmed that many Nottingham Forest supporters were traveling on the train after the team’s 2–2 home draw with Manchester United.

“Everyone at Nottingham Forest is shocked and deeply saddened by what happened. The courage and selflessness shown by our supporters on the train represent the very best of humanity and the very best of our club community. We will ensure that every supporter involved in this incident receives the financial assistance they need to access the best possible medical care during their recovery,” said the Greek shipping magnate Evangelos Marinakis in a statement released on Sunday.
