Kosovo’s basketball champions knocked out by Dutch opponent

Kosovo’s basketball champions, Trepça, were defeated by Dutch champions Heroes Den Bosch with a score of 80:68 (19:27, 21:9, 24:20, 16:12) in the quarterfinals of the Basketball Champions League (BCL) qualifiers, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The match took place in Samokov, Bulgaria, where Trepça—nicknamed "The Miners"—gave their best and were supported by a large group of loyal fans from Mitrovica.

Trepça started strong, winning the first quarter 19:27. However, the second quarter proved fatal, as they lost it 21:9, going into halftime trailing 40:36. In the second half, the Dutch team maintained a slight edge and secured a 12-point win to advance to the semifinals of the qualifiers.

Despite the loss, Trepça will now compete in the group stage of the FIBA Europe Cup for the second consecutive season.
