Barcelona have officially completed the signing of German forward Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund, making him the club's second addition during the summer transfer window.

The Spanish champions will initially pay €22 million for the 24-year-old, with the agreement including a further €7 million in performance-related bonuses. Borussia Dortmund will also receive a percentage of any future profit Barcelona makes from a potential sale of the player, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Adeyemi ends a four-year spell at Dortmund, where he joined in 2022 from RB Salzburg. During his time with the German club, he made 146 appearances and scored 36 goals.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick was one of the main supporters of the transfer, having known Adeyemi since his time as Germany's national team coach, when he gave the forward his international debut. Adeyemi is valued for his versatility, as he can play in all three attacking positions.

After signing Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United for €70 million and now adding Karim Adeyemi, Barcelona continue to strengthen their attacking options. However, according to ESPN sources, the Catalan club are still looking for a traditional central striker, despite already having players such as Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Ferran Torres in the squad.
