Kosovo Basketball Federation sets deadline for club licensing

The Kosovo Basketball Federation (FBK) has announced that September 4, 2025 is the final deadline for licensing basketball clubs and academies for the 2025/26 competitive season, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The licensing process is conducted in accordance with the Regulation on Licensing and Competition and includes five main criteria:

  • Sporting
  • Financial
  • Legal
  • Ethical and Disciplinary
  • Administrative and Infrastructure

Clubs must submit all required documentation for their appropriate license category (A, B, C, or D).

Key updates for the new season include:

  • Men’s Superleague clubs are obligated to allocate at least 10% of their annual budget to youth development.
  • They must also submit a yearly training program for U10 to U18 age groups.
  • Clubs are required to comply with FBK's child protection policies, appoint a Child Protection Officer, and participate in mandatory training.

All documentation must be submitted in physical format at FBK’s offices by September 4, 2025.
